Getting to and around Paquera

Paquera is located on the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula along the Gulf of Nicoya. The district stretches from Porchote in Bahía Tambor to the Playa Naranjo ferry, and across several small communities, beaches, rural areas, and islands.
 

Many visitors arrive by ferry from Puntarenas to either Paquera or Playa Naranjo, enjoying the scenic crossing of the Gulf of Nicoya.
 

Once here, visitors commonly get around by car, taxi, local bus, bicycle, boat, or even kayak to explore the area and its many hidden spots.
