The region is now including more produce like cacao, dragon fruit, star fruit, and avocado. Some cattle farming is also popular amongst locals. Paquera has a rich history of living off the land and eating what you grow. Visitors will often see locals selling produce at the farmer's market on Wednesdays and within the streets of Paquera. Tourists can visit local farms to learn about the cultural and agricultural practices.
