Building Knowledge Together: UTN Courses in Paquera

In 2024, we began an inspiring collaboration with the Universidad Técnica Nacional (UTN) to bring education and professional development closer to our community. Together, we identified the key training needs in the Paquera region and designed a learning plan that could truly make a difference for local residents and tourism workers.

As a result, four professional courses were successfully held in Paquera, each taught by highly qualified instructors from UTN and attended by around 25 motivated participants:

·        🩹 First Aid and CPR: essential life-saving techniques for both professionals and community members.

·        🍴 Food Handling (Manipulación de Alimentos): ensuring safe, hygienic, and high-quality food service practices.

·        🤝 Customer Service: strengthening communication, empathy, and professionalism in tourism and business.

·        💡 Marketing as Entrepreneurship Development: practical tools to help small business owners grow their ideas and reach more clients.

These courses were offered right here in Paquera, eliminating the need for long travel to access further education. Each participant received an official UTN certificate, opening doors to new skills, job opportunities, and personal growth.

We are proud and excited about this new partnership with the university and the positive impact it is already having. Together, we’re making education more accessible and building a stronger, more skilled Paquera!
